vatus is a Latin phrase meaning to let go. We let go of our old ways, we let go of the past, we let go of the things that feel like “the past.” We let go of the things that we think we are doing right, or that make us feel good. Vatori means letting go, letting go, letting go. This is actually the first of three levels of self-awareness we are going to learn in this class.
The idea is that you are going to be letting go of your own personal habits, routines, and impulses. The things that we are doing right now. This is the level of self-awareness that all of us at some point in our lives are going to need. It is also the level of self-awareness that will help us in the future when we begin to realize that habits, routines, impulses, and reactions don’t really matter.
