Meredith Sweeney was born to play the harp, but her passion for music in general led her on a musical journey that ultimately led her to create her own company that focuses on the creation of new and innovative music, as well as her own film. Her company has released five studio albums as well as seven solo releases.
What’s her other passion? I’m sure you can guess it.
She also has a knack for making movies, which have been shown in theatres around the world. Her most recent, I Love You So Much, was released in November and is about a couple of women who are trying to make it as a single artist. The film was released to good reviews in the UK and her subsequent album I Love You So Much You Got Me So Horny Too was released in December.
Since the release of her new album, meredith has been busy going after fans with her appearances on The Voice, The X Factor UK and The X Factor US. She has also been a guest on The Voice UK. It’s a shame that she wasn’t able to make it to the US, because she is an actress, singer, and songwriter.
meredith has been working hard lately to get the album out, and this past week she released a really lovely mini-mixtape that you can stream right here. It features two songs from her new album and a mix she recorded just for this release. I love that she got her work out early and took the time to make her album feel special. It also makes me feel good that she has a full album coming out so soon.
With a lot of people complaining about the sound quality of Deathloop, I figured I would post a review to give you a good point. After reading it, I’m pretty excited for the potential release of Deathloop, as I think the whole album is good, but it’s a little pricey and the tracklist is a bit long. I’m also pretty excited to see what else the album will have next year.
Deathloop’s tracklist is very long, a full album is going to be out in a year I believe, which is why I think it would be cool to do a review of that album. One of the things I like about meredith Sweeney’s music is there is a lot of variety within each track. It’s hard to describe and it really makes the album feel good.
meredith Sweeneys is a Canadian singer-songwriter based out of Vancouver. She has been performing for over a decade and has played in the Canadian music scene since 2004. She has released three studio albums, a compilation album, and a greatest hits album.
Her most recent, 2014’s, The Lost Sound, is a collection of songs that she wrote during her time in college and later after getting a job and moving to Vancouver. This album was nominated for a Juno Award for Canadian Album of the Year.
The Lost Sound is one of the albums that my students have been listening to while we have been working on the book, and it is still one of my favourites. My students are very impressed with what she has written. I’m convinced she will be a major part of Canadian music in the not-too-distant future.
