These days there are a lot of places your brain can go when you’re on the internet. When you’re talking to people, when you’re browsing websites, making choices about which movies to watch, when you’re searching for a restaurant, or even when you’re writing. One of the things that comes up so frequently in connection with internet research is the tendency to think in the “mental space” of your own brain.
This is something that not even the most well-designed website can take away from you. When most people get on the internet they are trying to browse, read, and research something. Then they have to figure out which website to go to, which one to use, and then make a decision about what they should be reading or doing. A lot of this is simply done by the way you type a URL and the way you scroll through menus.
Another type of website is a blog. Blogs are very much like sites in general, except blogs are designed to be read by human readers. Blogs are designed to be read by people who are interested in the same thing. And so the blog is the primary way that people get to know you or your site. As a result, blogs are often very much like sites but without the benefits of the site, so you can read blogs without the benefits of the site.
This is an issue that we’ve been dealing with for a long time now. Blogs are a “feature” of a website, but a feature of a site is a bug. So you see a lot of sites that rely on a blog to make them work, but that’s where the bug is. Blogs are, in many instances, not a good idea for a website.
